Sub-Forum of Human Phenome

The Human Phenome Institute (HuPI) was founded in July 2017 as an independent research organization at Fudan University. HuPI leads theInternational Human Phenome Project (Phase I)with support from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Major Project, serving the strategy of launching the big science projects in China and the goal of establishing a global science and technology innovation center in Shanghai, and is one of the key pillars of ONE PLAN AND TWO CENTERS top-level design by Zhangjiang-Fudan International Innovation Center. HuPI is committed to the establishment of theSYSTEMS BIOLOGY RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE(approximately 89,000 square meters), which will provide the strong support for launching HUMAN PHENOME PROJECT.

HuPI is establishing the cross-scale and high-dimensional phenotyping platform of world class for the precise measurement of human phenome. HuPI has the advanced molecular proteomics platform (consisted of 8 sets of ultra-high-resolution MS systems for proteome analysis, including 2 sets of Orbitrap Fusion Lumos, 5 sets of Q Exactive HF-X and 1 set of timsTOF PRO), molecular metabolomics platform (consisted of 27 sets of NMR and MS systems, including 14 sets of UHPLC-QQQ/OTRAPMS, 9 sets of UHPLC-QTOFMS, 2 sets of GC-FID/MS, 1 set of UHPLC-ICPMS and 1 set of 600MHz NMR (IVDr)),  functional phenotype measurement platform (including sleep monitoring platform, bioelectric phenomics platform, body imaging and measurement platform, etc.) and the  reference laboratory for quality control , which provide the powerful supporting system for the scientific research of human phenome.

HuPI has launched several large-scale cohort studies (including natural population and the populations of cardiac infarction, aging, refractory epilepsy, etc.) to gradually draw the atlas of human phenome and comprehensively analyze the correlations between phenome and genome, then to explore the intrinsic regularities and biomarkers of human health and diseases.

HuPI will provide the world’s leading platform and high-quality research resources for the young scholars, and facilitate them to grow into outstanding leaders in the field of human phenome. Compensation Package

If employed by the Human Phenome Institute, we will provide

Faculties

1. Competitive salary. For those with especially outstanding performance, the annual compensation before tax could be up to 500,000 to 700,000 RMB;

2. Opportunities to be employed by affiliated hospitals of Fudan University, which would further to increase the salary and research startup funds;

3. Additional research startup funds amount to the national funding standards

4. Direct recognition as “Ph.D. Supervisor”;

5. The right to enroll one doctoral student and several post-doctoral students during the first three years;

6. A fully furnished apartment with two bedrooms and one living room;

7. Pre-school and compulsory education resources;

8. Priority to high-quality healthcare resources provided by affiliated hospitals.

SUPER POSTDOCTORAL PROPOSALS

Human Phenome Institute (HuPI) was founded in July 2017 as an independent research organization in Fudan University. HuPI serves China’s strategy of launching the big science projects and Shanghai’s objective of building a global science and technology innovation center, and it is one of the key pillars of ONE PLAN AND TWO CENTERS top-level design by Zhangjiang-Fudan International Innovation Center.

In 2017, HuPI leads INTERNATIONAL HUMAN PHENOME PROJECT (Phase I) with the financial support of 557 Million RMB from Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Major Projects. Through conducting this project, HuPI has preliminarily established the world’s first cross-scale and high-dimensional phenotyping platform for the precise measurement of human phenome, and is committed to promoting the establishment of international standards and technical specifications for human phenome, and gradually drawing the reference map of human phenome. In order to launch the International Human Phenome Project, Human Phenome Consortium of China and International Human Phenome Consortium (IHPC) were established in 2018 and both set their Secretariats in HuPI. Besides, the HuPI is committed to establish SYSTEMS BIOLOGY RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE (approximately 89,000 square meters), which will strongly support the establishment of public platform for both research and phenotypic data, attracting the global collaboration of leading institutions and scholars all over the world.

HuPI has the outstanding research team of human phenome, including 10 full-time PIs and 16 part-time PIs, and 3 of them are the academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. At present, HuPI is promoting the construction of human phenome disciplines to strengthen the human phenome research. To launch HUMAN PHENOME PROJECT, we are in the urgent need for the talented young scholars. HuPI pays the special attention to the cultivation of young scholars and will provide the strong support for young talents, including platforms, funds, postgraduate policies, etc.
